Crave Catering has struck up a natural partnership with our namesake Crave Portland. This fantastic organization connects “urban gals to the sassiest, gutsiest, most inspiring people they need to know in Portland via a modern marketplace of soirees, gatherings and online networking.” We will be witnessing that first-hand as we cater their next meet, greet and learn session later this month. (Of course there will be delightful bites from us and lovely wine paired with each temptation!) For you ladies in business, starting a business, selling your ideas or pretty much anything, you should really check this out! Hurry up because it’s filling up fast!

Twizzler Straws: Great Picnic Idea

Monday, June 28th, 2010 | Catering | No Comments

As you set out for your picnics and music festivals this summer with your blankets and baskets in tow, think about what you leave (or ideally don’t leave) behind. One fantastic idea is using the Twizzler candy as a straw. This is perfect for the kiddos, especially in berry lemonades. Or, mix it with a spiked lemonade for you and your adult pals: refreshing, delicious and trash-free. You can also display these in a bucket of ice at your next outdoor BBQ. Lots of good times are to be had with Twizzlers, so grab some for your next event!

Taste of summer: strawberries are in season!

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 | Catering | No Comments
Strawberries are now in season and will be throughout the entire summer months. They are the perfect snack for picnics, strolls, hikes or hanging out on the back patio.
They’re easy to pop in your mouth and taste great on their own. Or, think about dipping them in whipped cream, chocolate or other delightful fruit dips. We prefer to stuff them with a chocolate ganache and top with another berry, like a blue berry. This makes for a berry heaven, which is an exquisite dessert when it’s hot outside.

Oh, and did we mention they’re pretty good for you? Prized in ancient Rome for their medicinal uses, strawberries are recognized as having more vitamin C than some citrus fruits. They are also high in fiber, folate, potassium and antioxidants, making them a natural means of reducing the chances of heart disease, high blood pressure and certain cancers.

Sweet!
